Past Update for B&S

Date: 2/10/2016

On Wednesday, February 10th, 2016, the following content had been added to Blade & Soul:

Bloodshade Harbor (Party Dungeon)- 6 player normal mode, 4 player hard mode

What seperates a hard mode dungeon from a normal mode dungeon besides the max number of players that are allowed to enter together? Answer: Hard Mode dungeons do not have combat indicators telling you where the enemy is going to hit next or what move they are about to use. Naturally damage has greatly been increased, making the higher difficulty to dodge even more devastating. You won't have any ability suggestions or dodge timers to help you, and really your only hope is to memorize the skills of your enemy. That being said, just because a boss behaved one way in normal mode, does not mean it'll follow that pattern in hard mode. You may have a whole new array of skills to learn, making this dungeon worthy of multiple runs before completion; though it is possible to defeat anything the first time around if you have a good enough team or strong enough gear. Bosses will also have reduced enrage timers (which is the amount of time you have before that boss increases it's stats to insane levels, making the dungeon ever more difficult.) With this level of difficulty risen to such heights, expect the bosses own weapon as a possible reward drop, as well as exclusive costumes and accessories.

Background: You have been dealing with the persistant annoyance of the Blackrams since the start of your journey, and even having to deal with the horrendous voice acting of Vice Admiral Poharan. But did you think the real leader of the Blackram Marauders would just standby and allow you to continuously thrash his granddaughter? Admiral Hae Mujin wants revenge and there's no where for you to hide, but who is hiding anyway? Take the fight to him on his own territory like a real man! (Or woman.)

Location: You can find their hideout in Moonwater Plains, Blackram Shipyard.

Rewards: Pirate weapons and accessories, upgradeable Pirate Bracelet, Bloodshade Soul Shields, Hae Mujin’s Machismo (Upgrade Material), Cobalt Widow & Scarlet Widow outfits and hairstyles

Bosses:

  • Venomous Thrasher (Tip- Dispose of his eggs first and quickly.)

  • Munitions Officer Blood Mane (Tip- Don't allow him to grab his mechanical back up.)

  • Cobalt Widow & Scarlet Widow (Tip- They can't be defeated apart, so focus on doing continuous damage to them both, keeping their hp bars relatively the same until it's time to deal the ending blow.)

  • Admiral Hae Mujin- he's a Kungfu Master with shadows for minions and a large range of AOE moves.

The following are the list of quests released with this update:

  • Invitation from Poharan

  • Breaking the Chain (Blackram Supply Chain Daily)

  • Wall Dash (The next parkour lesson most likely from Old Man Cho.)

Attacking him at dawn isn't the only way to face off against the Blackram however. Why not gather up your own formidable army and sneak attack them at night? Who says only the enemy is worthy of putting together a full proof ambush?

Nightshade Harbor (Party Dungeon)- 24 player

Explanation: Mobs will constantly be respawning through this dungeon and your entire forces will be expected to work together to keep their numbers down. You cannot enter through the Cross Server Lobby, and will be expected to show up at the portal location with your own party (or alone), and entering to be randomly tossed in with many other parties. Together you will take down the Blackram or die trying! Once your dungeon is filled with twenty four players, a new dungeon will appear for the next twenty four to be able to enter their own raid.

The enemy: When it comes down to difficulty, the mobs have mostly high health and low damage so that a variety of players are able to handle what they come up against.

Tips and Notes: There's a high amount of dailies for the twenty four player raid, which would be a wise source of experience and gold for the common player. If you are still struggling with making enough money to handle your endgame upgrades, this would be the place to start working towards making it.

Costume Rewards: Hae Mujin’s Pirate King and Dark Pirate King costumes, and Noble of the Sea and Pirate’s Ego adornments.

Mushin's Tower (Solo Dungeon)- seven floors of growing difficulty with rewards unobtainable anywhere else

Background: Ever thought the fact Master Hong was killed, ending your training far too early was a bit stupid? You are obtaining all these insane skills and there's no one around to help you master them to their full potential! Even Hajoon can only teach you the basics for a limited time, and Old Man Cho is only interested in teaching you how to master your air traveling techniques. Has fighting random monsters around the world not proven very good practice dummies? They either die too fast or deal too much damage, there isn't any good balance between them and yourself. Well, search no longer for a worthy structure of training fortitde.

Floor Plans: The bottom level is the perfect new landscape to start training your skills as you prepare the hard journey ahead, climbing the stairs of growing challenges. Each Floor will prove more difficult than the last, but as you push yourself through the journey of self improvement, you'll have pride and a new found level of skill to show for it once you finally reach the top.

Floor 1: Choose among six mighty warriors to show off your prowess against, then choose another for a second fight.

Floor 2: Silver Deva (silver version of the Golden Deva in Cinderlands first Wheel of Fate challenge).

Floor 3: Multiple Challengers will appear to gang up against you at this level.

Floor 4: Pale Stalker Jiangshi (white and black version of the red and black Stalker Jiangshi (First Wheel of Fate boss you ever came across in the Cemetary.) You can now choose one of your companions from floor 1 to fight at your side.

Floor 5: Hulking Augerite... If you've ever tried soloing him before at his level, you'll know this won't be a smooth fight of ease.

Floor 6: Wheel of Misfortune! Spin the wheel to decide which horrifying (Dokumo spider queen Q.Q) foe you will need to take down to make it to the top floor. Or, if your lucky you may land on Waddles and have an easy victory handed to you.

Floor 7: Junghado! You have passed through enemies you have long sense demolished before reaching this tower, but now you must face off against something far more challenging. It's easy to take down a past enemy resurfacing as usual, but to fight against your own comrade? Junghado hopes to truly test your abilities with his master swordsman techniques. A worthy opponent for a worthy companion.

First Hongmoon Level Increase (+5)- Your level remains 45, but you grow in strength as if you actually leveled five more times without actually being five levels higher.

Previous Update for B&S

Date: 3/2/2016

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016, the following content will be added to Blade & Soul: Unchained.

The limits on Jin and Lyn are finally falling off as they embrace their inner Dark Chi to a level no other race has gone, and will ever dare go, before. With this unchaining of their abilities, they will unlock the martial art skills of a Warlock. With the death of Master Hong coming long before the addition of the warlock, many question how it even came to be, especially when the dark chi requirement was not within the Hongmoon student's body until after they were attacked by Jinsoyun and the Twilight's Edge, which was also after the death of Master Hong. But the logic around Dark Chi knows no boundaries, in other words, warlock exists because it just does.

Naryu Labyrinth (Party Dungeon)- 6 player normal mode, 4 player hard mode

Background: The mysteries behind Naryu have been studied and dissected for centuries by researchers and overly curious adventurers, and some have even gone as far as to abuse it's powers by using their artifacts for their own gain. (Naryu Coins, Naryu Silver, etc.) But now a researcher and adventurer alike has stumbled upon the labyrinth to the ancient artifacts themselves. What's inside will only be discovered by those brave enough to venture, and strong enough to leave to tell the tale.

Location: Unknown information so far. This dungeon is truly a maze to fear as the rooms you incounter change each time you enter and you may even begin to wonder if there will ever be an end.

Rewards: 3 Costumes, Wind, Thunder, and Black Sun. Labyrinth Treasure Chest.

Bosses: (Specifics are unknown, but the challenge changes randomly each time you enter a stage.

The following are the list of quests released with this update: Unknown information so far.

If you've already beat the charge of surprassing Junghado on the 7th floor of Mushin's Tower, and the challenges above just aren't enough for you, than you'll be happy to know the 8th floor is also being unlocked to the 7th floor masters.

Mushin's Tower 8th Floor (Solo Dungeon)- Surpassing the 7th floor might have been an easy task for some, and a struggle of self will for others, but the 8th floor will be a challenge even the most cocky pro will find themself faltering at. It isn't called Mushin's Tower for nothing, and now that you've reached the top of Stage 1 Tower, you will be facing Mushin himself.

Stage 1 Tower: Consists of floors 1-8, but more towers will arrive in the updates to come. (Hint: Stage 2 Tower: 9th-15th Floors)

Past Floors and Newest Floor:

Floor 8: Mushin! It has been known since the beginning the only true top floor master should be Mushin himself, so this should come as no surprise. But what also shouldn't come as no surprise, is that defeating one of the great Four Guardians (even if just his ethereal manifestation of him) will be a truely grand accomplishment to be proud of. Or an understandable loss if the 7th floor proves to be your last win.

What to note: As you had experienced the annoyingly limited timespan you had to defeat Junghado (before he uses his endless "cheater move" as I like to call it), you will come across that same annoying time limit when fighting Mushin. He has three versions of himself and you will have to defeat each one before the hidden time limit is up. This battle is more a test of how well you can dps, both fast and powerful, than actual skill on a battle field. Mastering your combos to bring out the most amount of damage as quickly as possible is the key here. It may not seem like the fair way to win, or even the Hongmoon way to win, but Mushin always wanted you to turn your back on the path of Hongmoon. So it is only natural that he would expect nothing but a ruthless barrage of constant brutal beatings on his flesh instead of a skilled dance of martial talent. If you defeat Mushin, you can truly call yourself a traitor to Hongmoon. (Enjoy that recolor of the Hongmoon School uniform while you're at it: Traitor.)

Today's Update for B&S

  • Level Cap Rises: 50 H.M. 10 (Your H.M. level will go on pause until you reach level 50, then it will start again where you left off. If you haven't leveled your H.M levels at all before this cap raise, then this will not matter to you.

  • New Terrain: Silverfrost Mountain & Soulstone Plains

  • New Costumes: Devotion, Traveler, Crest of the Rising Sun

  • New Achievement Shop: Most expensive item requirements achievmeent points 1450.

  • New Endgame Town: The City of Zaiwai

  • New Gearing System: Added Skypetal Path. (Do NOT choose this path, no matter how much cheaper it seems at first. It is a trick and if you fall for it you will hate yourself when you reach the next stage. STAY on SIREN.

  • Clan Crafting Update: Clan Costumes!

  • Story Continues: You're sent to the Silverfrost Mountain's capital Zaiwai. (Story ends at chapter 33, where you will probably be short exp ranging from 100-30%, depending on how many dailies you did along the way and if you did anything extra before hand. You will not have side quests until around the end of level 48.)

  • New Daily Dash System: Night Luna (costume reward on completion) Details on Wixing Vix page.

New Dungeons- The following dungeons are Heroic [purple] ranked dungeons. (There are also five Expert [blue] ranked dungeons being released with this update).

The Awakened Necropolis-

Background: â€‹30 Years ago, Highland Necropolis was the city of Highland Central, the capital of the Eastern Continent (And the reason at level 45 cap there isn't an endgame town). During that time, Yura manipulated Prince Sogun  into murdering his sister and doing the Heavenly Sacrament. She knew that he would fail, and in doing so release horrors on Highland Central the world has never seen before. Failing at the Heavenly Sacrament meant opening Hell's Gate, allowing endless hoards of terrifying demons to wreak havoc. For years the demons attempted to do just that, but Chieftain Hammerjaw and his Snapjaw army battled to keep them back, despite the blame of Hell's Gate being open at all entirely falling on the idiotic shoulders of humans. How could the Snapjaw just stand by and allow the demons to take over the world? The humans sent their Soul Wardens to help, but it was a humiliating effort that only made the Snapjaw more frustrated. The humans only got themselves killed and imprisoned, turning into fiends and adding to the endless flood of demons the Snapjaw had to take down. They only got in the way, and the Snapjaw requested your help in making the Soul Wardens see reason, and to just leave. The only solution to the overrun city was to continue holding it back, sealing the destruction within so it did not spread to the rest of the Eastern Continent. Mushin had thrown himself through Hell's Gate 30 years ago, to seal it on the other side, while the Snapjaw continued to battle what remained to this day. The reason being because the dead won't just stay dead. You arrive to help the Snapjaw out, earning their respect and loyalty so that you can later hopefully give a more permanent solution to their Highland Necropolis problem.

Goal: The Awakened Necropolis is the demonic hoards organized attempt to finally breakthrough the Snapjaw defenses. You may have rescued the Soul Wardens last time, but they haven't given up in helping fix the problem Prince Sogun caused. Your only option now is to join the Soul Wardens as well. Bring a team into this dungeon to help fight back the Unholy Jiangshi Demon, then splitting your team along the way into Demonseal Cores, before finally coming face to face with the boss: Scorpion Queen.

Lair of the Frozen Fang- The northern parts of Silverfrost Mountain is home to the Jomu Tribe. They are imprisoned in the royal mansion under the guidance of the Bladescale Naga King and Tetralisk Queen. The Jomu kidnap humans to use as slaves and blood sacrifices as entertainment, while spending the rest of their time trying to escape their icy hell. You will need to defeat the following bosses: Godem the Fist, Jarakhan, and Court Lady Sa. This will allow you to reach Chuchu, a winged monstrosity who calls upon yetis to do his bidding (maybe the human slaves are busy in blood sacrifice line up). Finally to end this frozen nightmare, you will have to defeat both the King and the Queen, though who you defeat first does not matter, as long as you take them both out.

Avalanche Den- Neighbor to the Jomu Tribe, the Angler Yetis do not kidnap humans for sacrifises, but more as an occasional sport. They use manipulation to control humans into delivering themselves straight to the door however, and you are clearly no exception. (Since you will deliver yourself as well in hopes of defeating them). But just as they like their sports, Angler Yetis find time to create tons of traps for you to fall into if you attempt to corrupt their lovely playtime. Expect to be dodging snowballs and avoiding cavern fungus, or use them to your advantage (wink wink, hint hint, nudge nudge... etc~). Mighty Chubarro won't be so mighty if you sock him with a snowball or two. The Angler Yeti boss is a bit of a baby and will throw a chilly fit if you bother him, freezing and smashing anyone that dares approach.

Soulstone Plains

  • A large expanse of land restricted only to the factions (Crimson Legion & Cerulean Order). In this land they will battle it out to decide who controls the soulstone mining grounds. Both factions have their own HQ on opposite sides of the plains, but the drills are another useful resource you'll have to fight over to help you mine the precious soulstones in the center. Your task is to help defend your faction so that you can obtain the following: Soulstones, gold, experience, and Faction Contribution Points.

  • The battle between the factions never truly seizes, but it does happen in phases through the day and you do have some actual goals to meet. Task 1, you'll want to kill the opposing faction captain (Konta for the Cerulean Order, or Suljun for the Crimson Legion). Once you accomplish that you will have the opportunity to take over the mining drills. Task 2, the opposing faction won't just accept that and will attempt to take the drills from you, defend your drills at all cost. Dangerous threats will arrive in waves to cause even more chaos on the battle field, and you'll have to defend your drills against them as well. If you succeed, you'll be presented with— Task 3, complete the mysterious final challenge if you want your payment for all your hard work.

  • The Soulstone Plains is restricted to level 50 players, because it's unequalized and you'll be little use to anyone if you can't hold up your own against max level opponents.

  • Basics: Soulstone Plains is a humongous pvp area where you will have numerous dailies to complete along side your fellow faction crew. You will want to do these every day to reap the full benefits of the plains, and maybe to help you decide if you are even on the right side. Know your class, upgrade your gear, and respect your faction.

Clan Crafting Update

The newest addition to Clan Crafting is the insanely expensive system of crafting your own costume. It's not just already created outfits that you can choose from, but actually dye, add patterns, and change the many accessories/garments to the costume as well.

Important Things to Note: Only Clan members ranked veteran or higher can remove costumes from the costume depot. But any ranked member can wear them. They are not tradeable, so lower ranked members will have to be risen to Veteran rank long enough to remove their costume from the depot, then can be dropped back to Member or Recruit.

Clan Rank Requirements: â€‹

  • Clan Rank 5: Can craft outfit

  • Clan Rank 10: Can craft face adornment

  • Clan Rank 15: Can craft head adornment

Team Magma!

Currently Rank 7 and always recruiting determined and friendly players! We have an outfit already on it's way with over half the materials obtained. Contribute, build trust, and you may obtain a Team Magma Exclusive! (Note the costumes below/above are not the current Clan Costume, but the better one I created just to see how it works)

Features:

  • The Share Design button allows the player within the Clan Wardrobe to link his creation to the rest of the Clan, therefore allowing them to try it on their characters and see what they think of it.

  • The System Chat will display the required material to make that piece of the costume. (Air assassin Design, Dye Polish, etc...)

  • Some of the options cost a lot more than others. Their pricing can range from 5g and Clan Rank 5, to even 100g and Clan Rank 15. You will need tons of gold and lots of contributing members if you ever wish to unlock all of the options from the Clan Wardrobe.

  • Currently it seems only the Clan Leader can try patterns out on Face and Head Adornments, while the rest of the Clan are required to have the actual Clan Rank to be 10 or 15 before they can test them out.

  • Who can even use the Clan Wardrobe to fiddle with outfit creations will depend on the Clan Leader. The Clan Leader can assign which rankings are allowed to play with the Clan Wardrobe and who cannot.
