Overview: There are seven crafting jobs in Blade and Soul. Each job requires specific gathering guilds and partnerships to be able to create their items. Below you will find which guilds will best work for each craft, and which other crafts will best help that craft fulfill their jobs. You first are allowed to choose a craft at level 11, however you don't actually reach the necessary town (Jadestone Village) until level 15 if you are following the quests. Most of the guilds that coincide with a specific craft will be found directly next to them, but that is not the case for all of the guilds. Just look around for the npc associated with any of the guilds and crafts listed below, they will be labled with their guild/craft above their names like a title.

Crafting Guilds: The following guilds will craft the material you order from them. (The Radiant Ring, The Forgekeepers, Soul Warden, Merry Potters, The Silver Cauldron, Earthseers, and Acquired Tastes.) (Choose Two.)

Gathering Guilds: The following guilds require you to hunt down and gather the material once before they will continue the gathering process for you. Once you "unlock" every material by bringing them one sample, you only have to order the material from them like the Crafting Guilds. (The Stonecutters, The Prospector's Union, The Tree Fellers, The Trapper's Alliance, Green Thumbs, The Herbside Service, and The Fish Network.) (Choose Two.)

Convenience Fees: To avoid paying Instant Delivery fees and higher Instant Ordering fees, always visit your crafting and gathering guilds to order and collect your materials. Depending on your server's marketplace and your own funds, doing so will decide whether or not you are actually making a profit from your crafts. (If you are selling your items for less than you pay to make them, then you really need to rethink your business plan.)

Ranking: As your guild ranking level rises, so does the cost to order and instant deliver your materials. If you are constantly ordering items throughout your journey from level 11 to level 45, don't be surprised if the cost seems to have risen quite a bit. Maybe so much that none of your items are even worth making just to sell on marketplace. There are few crafts that will actually be useful at endgame, but it's up to you and the economic outcome of your server that will decide which ones are worth mastering. (Tip: Merry Potters creates endgame materials as well as a potion used by all the other guilds, so this is a wise job to invest in, however it's heavily time consuming. Create alts to handle the smaller materials you need (keys, hammers, charms, etc.) while your main takes on the task of a Merry Potter. If you can't afford to maintain multiple alts, then try partnering up with a friend. They can manage half the guilds while you handle the other half, sharing materials and the wealth.)

Tips On Partnerships: Below I have all the guilds organized with the Gathering Guild that best should be joined with which Crafting Guilds and which other Gathering Guilds. First choose the Gathering Guilds you want, then see which crafting guilds will help the most with them.

Noob Notes: Guilds and Clans are not the same thing. Clans are what players create to bring other players together in a shared goal and family (though most mmorpgs call them guilds). BnS calls them Clans instead of guilds however. (They decided to be difficult.)

Recommended Partnerships:

Forgekeepers (FK) and Radiant Ring (RR)

Merry Potters (MP) and Soul Warden (SW)

Silver Cauldron (SC) and Earthseers (ES)

Acquired Tastes (AT) and Merry Potters or/ Soul Warden

Recommended Character Jobs:

MP and SW for main

FK and RR for alt

SC and ES for alt

AT and MP for alt

AT and SW for alt

Upgrade Guilds

  • The shields from Soul Wardens can be used to upgrade the stats on your soul shields, while the Transformation stones are used to upgrade your gear during Stage Evolutions.

Noob Note: Stage Evolutions are when your gear reaches Stages 5 and Stage 10. Learn more about that on the Gearing page.

  • Shields of the same type or stronger will not be able to be used as Soul Shield upgrade fodder.

(Whether this is true or not has yet to be determined.)

  • Merry Potters and Soul Wardens are the most "difficult" partnership because they only share one Gathering Guild. You'll have to choose which Crafting Guild you want the easiest control over. (I recommend Green Thumb and Tree Fellers instead of Trappers Alliance if you choose MP and SW)

  • Acquired Taste is probably the most useless guild, but if you decide to do it, you'll need to choose to side more with Merry Potters or Soul Wardens as a partnership, because they only share one Gathering Guild.

Utilities Guilds

  • The charms from Earthseers can be used to unseal various items in the game. However like most of the main crafting materials, it requires the Premium Lake Mud Refiner potion from Merry Potters.

Noob Note: This is why Merry Potters is one of the wisest guilds to invest in, however highly time consuming and expensive. Every guild needs their overpriced blue potions to the extent of making crafting feel heavily unbalanced and pointless if you aren't Soul Warden or Merry Potters.

  • If you have trouble keeping your health up, the potions from the Silver Cauldron will come in use, but otherwise are useless. Because they drop so often from mobs.

Noob Note: Mobs are monsters.

  • It's a lot easier to just farm Blackram Narrow for Dumplings and Potions if you need, than wasting time crafting them. These guilds are best left for an alt if you really want/need them.

  • Charms may become an issue at endgame, but because they require Premium Lake Mud Refiners they should be moved into the Special Orders section of the Earthseer Picture. Honestly, I just think it's either a bug or NCsoft trying to screw up the economy by making them cost refiners in our version.

Fodder Guilds

  • The weapons and accessories can be used as fodder for upgrading your gear.

Noob Note: Fodder is food for your gear so it can get stronger after eating it. Fodder gear does not need to be unsealed, but Breakthrough gear does. Learn more about that on the Gearing page.

  • For higher level weapons and accessories, the fodder gear here may no longer work.

(Whether this is true or not has yet to be determined.)

  • Why should these two Crafting Guilds be asigned to the same character? Because they share the same Gathering Guilds, which will allow you to better be able to manage these guilds.

Bug Note: Radiant Ring is currently bugged where you cannot create jewelry (however this is only an issue in the american servers)
